DfE School Experience 

If you are thinking about a career in teaching but would like to experience modern school life before you apply, then you're most welcome to come in to our schools to observe lessons and find out more.

The Department for Education School Experience scheme offers potential teachers the opportunity to go into schools for 1-2 lessons/ days to experience the life of a teacher and learn more about the profession from current teachers.

Secondary Teacher Taster Days 

We regularly offer Taster Days in schools across Gloucestershire.  These give you the opportunity to visit schools and meet our team to find out more about the teaching journey.

On our Secondary Teacher Taster Days, you'll have the opportunity to observe a variety of lessons, find out more about training in Gloucestershire and learn hints and tips to help you make a successful application.

Our next Taster Days will be held on:

  • Tuesday 10th February 2026 - Wyedean School and Sixth Form, Chepstow

  • Tuesday 28th April 2026

Primary Teaching Open Mornings 

See a primary school in action, and find out everything you need to know about training to teach primary aged children in Gloucestershire at one of our Open Mornings.  With school placements across the county, you could train to teach in a school near your home.
