When training with us, you can train to become a primary or secondary school teacher,

Both courses are  school based and normally last one year.  We offer training in schools in Gloucester, Tewkesbury and The Forest of Dean. 

You could train to teach in any of our schools.

Primary PGCE

Primary PGCE with QTS (subject to validation)

Our Primary programme is a one year  school-based teacher training programme, in which you will be fully immersed in school life and supported, both academically and pastorally, to be the best teacher you can be.

From day one of your programme, you will be in school, working with pupils, making a difference to children’s lives. You will undertake at least two placements in contrasting schools, giving you broad and invaluable first hand school experience.

Your school-based learning will be complemented by an in-person and online Professional Studies programme delivered by active teachers from a range of partner schools.

This ambitious evidence-informed training curriculum will inspire and accelerate your classroom confidence and give you excellent employment prospects.

    We offer 3 courses for the Primary, 2 with a PGCE and 1 with QTS only:

    Primary (B450)QTS with PGCE
    full time - ages 5-11

    Primary (Q860)QTS with PGCE
    full time - ages 3-7

    * Placements may change due to staff changes in placement schools. In such event, we work with you to accommodate your needs.

Secondary ITT in Gloucestershire

Provided by Gloucestershire Initial Teacher Education Partnership (GITEP), a highly successful school-centred initial teacher training (SCITT) provider, recognised as Outstanding by  Ofsted in 2024, we offer secondary Initial Teacher Training (ITT) with QTS and a PGCE awarded by University of Bristol.

With placements across our school network, in both selective and non selective, rural and city schools.
