Train with Odyssey
When training with us, you can train to become a primary or secondary school teacher resulting in QTS and PGCE. School based and lasting one year, we offer training in schools in Gloucester, Tewkesbury and The Forest of Dean.
Both the primary and secondary teacher training programmes are provided by Gloucestershire Initial Teacher Education Partnership (GITEP), an Ofsted Outstanding provider.
Primary PGCE with QTS
Our Primary teacher training programme is a one year school-based teacher training programme, in which you will be fully immersed in school life and supported, both academically and pastorally, to be the best teacher you can be.
Following successful completion of the programme, you will receive your Qualified Teacher Status from GITEP and your PGCE from the University of Gloucestershire.
From day one of your programme, you will be in school, working with pupils, making a difference to children’s lives. You will undertake at least two placements in contrasting schools, giving you broad and invaluable first hand school experience.
Your school-based learning will be complemented by an in-person and online Professional Studies programme delivered by active teachers from a range of partner schools.
This ambitious evidence-informed training curriculum will inspire and accelerate your classroom confidence and give you excellent employment prospects.

Secondary PGCE with QTS
Our Secondary teacher training programme is a one year school-based teacher training programme, in which you will be fully immersed in school life and supported, both academically and pastorally, to be the best teacher you can be.
Following successful completion of the programme, you will receive your Qualified Teacher Status from GITEP and your PGCE from Bath Spa University.
With placements in different phases in a variety of different schools across our network, you will be trained to become the best teacher you can be.
