Secondary Teacher Training

When training to become a secondary school teacher with us, you will work towards Qualified Teacher Status and a PGCE awarded by Bath Spa University. School based and lasting one year, we offer training in schools in Gloucester, Tewkesbury and The Forest of Dean. 

The secondary teacher training programme is provided by Gloucestershire Initial Teacher Education Partnership (GITEP), an Ofsted Outstanding provider.

Secondary PGCE with QTS

Our Secondary teacher training programme is a one year school-based teacher training programme, in which you will be fully immersed in school life and supported, both academically and pastorally, to be the best teacher you can be.

Following successful completion of the programme, you will receive your Qualified Teacher Status from GITEP and your PGCE from Bath Spa University.

With placements in different phases in a variety of different schools across our network, you will be trained to become the best teacher you can be.

To support your application and to prepare you as much as possible for the programme, we would always recommend you gain as much school experience as possible before applying.
